NIDS - National Institute for Discover Science (NIDS)
The National Institute for Discovery Science (NIDS) was Robert Bigelow's research group on UAP in Las Vegas. It ran from 1995 to 2004.
Its science advisory board first met on 2 and 3 February 1996. Accounts of that meeting list Jacques Vallee, Hal Puthoff and John Alexander among the first members, with Kit Green as chairman. Puthoff, a board member, eventually became its final chairman. Eric Davis worked there as a staff researcher from 1996 to 2002, by his own account. By October 2003 he and Vallee were "consulting members," the status under which they presented a six-level model of anomalous phenomena in Porto, Portugal.
A NIDS team monitored the Gulf Breeze sighting wave in Florida. According to Colm Kelleher and George Knapp's book Hunt for the Skinwalker, NIDS bought Skinwalker Ranch in 1996.
The Invisible College, the network Vallee named, counts NIDS alongside the ATP Working Group. Bigelow's later BAASS held the Defense Intelligence Agency's AAWSAP contract, and Puthoff and Davis worked on that program too.
