George Knapp
George Knapp is an investigative journalist. In 1989 he interviewed Bob Lazar for the Las Vegas station KLAS-TV.
On 10 November 1989 Lazar appeared in that interview under his own name, describing what he said was his work at the S-4 facility near Area 51. A May 1989 segment had shown him in silhouette as "Dennis." The broadcast launched Lazar into public prominence.
Knapp co-wrote Hunt for the Skinwalker (2005) with Colm Kelleher. With Kelleher and James Lacatski he co-wrote Skinwalkers at the Pentagon (2021), an account by program insiders of the Defense Intelligence Agency's AAWSAP program. It treats Skinwalker Ranch as one of the program's three investigative tracks. He co-hosts the Weaponized podcast with Jeremy Corbell.
At the House hearing on 9 September 2025, Knapp told of an attempt by a Lockheed Martin executive to transfer retrieved material to the AAWSAP contractor, and of a CIA official who blocked it. The Pentagon's AARO did not corroborate the account, and no agreement, meeting record or clearance file has surfaced (the disputed transfer account). Of AARO he told the hearing: "It almost looks like AARO operated as a counterintelligence operation to get people to come in, tell their stories and then discredit all of them."
