Jake Barber

Jake Barber is a former U.S. Air Force specialist and helicopter pilot, UAP whistleblower, and co-founder of Skywatcher with Alex Klokus (November 2024). He emerged as a public figure through the Coulthart/NewsNation disclosure pipeline before launching the organization.

The National Press Club Conference (June 2023)

By his own account, Barber was dispatched by his employer — strongly implied to be a major legacy aerospace contractor — to the June 12, 2023 whistleblower conference at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C., hosted by Steven Greer. His assignment was to "red team" the whistleblowers: gather intelligence on exactly what they knew, conduct a threat assessment, and, if warranted, have them reported to the FBI and arrested to shut them down.

While seated in the audience running his assessment, Barber listened to Michael Herrera testify about his 2009 encounter in Indonesia - a 300-foot matte-black octagonal "8-gon" craft and a rogue paramilitary unit loading human cargo into HVAC-equipped shipping containers. Barber states he was stunned: he recognized the exact craft and the exact containers from his own retrieval work - classified operational details Herrera could not have known without being a genuine witness. He concluded Herrera was telling the truth.

Seeing a fellow serviceman put his neck on the line in public, Barber abandoned his mission. Rather than report Herrera to the FBI, he pulled aside Greer and others at the event to tell them they needed to take Herrera's account seriously. That moment, by his account, was when he decided to flip.

Notably, Greer's disclosure events have themselves drawn covert attention from legacy UAP programs - Barber's tasking is a concrete documented instance of a legacy program surveilling a Greer-hosted forum to identify, assess, and neutralize whistleblowers before they could gain traction.

Whistleblower Activity

Following the NPC conference, Barber publicly confirmed that he was the person who "back-channeled" details of the 2009 Indonesia incident to Michael Herrera, after Herrera came forward with his account. Barber states that his own recovery team independently retrieved an identical 8-gon craft and used the same HVAC-equipped containers — which he describes as used for data observation and, according to his account, as Faraday cages for psionic asset containment. This corroboration is the basis for Herrera's identification of the Indonesia encounter as a Black Group logistics operation. Both accounts remain contested.

Barber frames his whistleblowing as the act of a "Red Teamer who flipped" — applying the deception and intelligence tradecraft he developed within legacy programs against his former employers to expose program activity to public scrutiny.

Skywatcher and Craft Summoning

Through Skywatcher, Barber claims his team can "summon" craft — referred to internally as "the egg" — through both machine-based sensor systems and human psionic interfaces. He states that Garry Nolan has personally witnessed sensor data from these events. These claims are unverified and have not been independently replicated.

Clinton-Era Background: The "Mystery Boxes"

During the Clinton administration, Barber's official cover was as an Air Force airplane mechanic. In reality, he held a NATO Top Secret clearance and worked as an escort for high-value targets transported in sealed containers. During one of these transport missions, he was exposed to severe radiation, resulting in complete hair loss, severe skin peeling, and nausea. He is currently receiving medical care for this exposure from Garry Nolan, a Stanford microbiologist specializing in UAP-related health effects.

Cover Legend Analysis

Barber publicly claims the following civilian roles were cover for compartmented UAP crash-retrieval work — by his telling, holding "an absurd number" of simultaneous job titles maintained plausible deniability as a contractor [S1]. • Overloaded résumé: four simultaneous roles claimed in one breath [S1]; but two of the four verify against independent records, which cuts against pure fabrication.
• Employer opacity / geographic drift: the helicopter company is never named; the best public match is Central (not Northern) California with title "Chief Pilot," not "director of operations" [S5] [S6].
• Footprint asymmetry: the element that should leave the cleanest trace — a published novel — leaves none at all [S9] [S10], while the unglamorous state filing and patent are where the record is solid [S3] [S4].
• Legend drift: the four-jobs list exists in exactly one Barber-voiced telling (Jan 2025) [S1]; Sentinels of Ether circulated in the community from March 2024, pre-dating his public emergence [S12]; a 2026 retelling adds Bosnia/presidential-support details absent from the original [S13].

Sentinels of Ether: Classified Information as Fiction

To legally introduce classified secrets into the public domain, Barber hired a ghostwriter and published a science fiction novel titled Sentinels of Ether under the pen name Alva Douglas. He deliberately fed the manuscript to the Department of Defense's Classification Review Board (DOPSR) twenty pages at a time, using their heavy redactions as a roadmap to understand exactly which UFO information was most highly classified. He essentially weaponized the government's own classification process to reveal the truth in plain sight, hidden within fiction.

The "Boogeyman"

When discussing potential government retaliation for his whistleblowing, Barber expressed zero fear, stating: "I'm not afraid of the boogeyman. I am the boogeyman. You don't want to show up at my house and think you're going to be successful with brute force because that's going to go south for you really quickly."

August 2024: The Egg Summoning

Through Skywatcher, Barber's team claims to have successfully summoned the "egg" craft — a 20-foot white, egg-shaped UAV — during daylight in August 2024 in the California desert. The team recorded the craft traveling at 10,000 miles per hour and presented the sensor data to the Pentagon's AARO (All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office). These claims are unverified and have not been independently confirmed.

This guy literally said he was sent to the disclosure forum to get people arrested - and then he heard Herrera's testimony, recognized the exact craft and containers from his own ops, and flipped on his employers on the spot. That's a wild origin story and, if true, a pretty significant data point about how the legacy programs treat public disclosure events.
