Unknown to the other attendees, Jake Barber was present not as a supporter but as a contractor dispatched by a legacy aerospace program to "red team" the whistleblowers - gather intelligence, run threat assessments, and arrange their arrest via the FBI. After hearing Herrera's testimony and recognizing classified operational details matching his own retrieval work, Barber abandoned his mission and instead approached Greer to advocate for taking Herrera seriously.
