Ronald Pandolfi

Roles:

  • Alleged custodian of CIA UFO files ("The Weird Desk") — succession from Dr. Kit Green is asserted but uncited (see below)
  • Deputy Director for Science and Technology, CIA
  • ODNI liaison for High Frequency Gravitational Waves research
  • Advisor to the JASON defense science group

Custodian of the "Weird Desk"

His investigations found no verifiable evidence of the MJ-12 group's existence within CIA archives.

[!warning] Correction (2026-08-30) This note previously stated that Pandolfi was recruited by Dr. Kit Green to take over the CIA's anomalous-phenomena files. That is unsupported. Every source for the succession — the The Aviary roster, Anomaly Archives, and the podcast circuit downstream of them — describes succession, never recruitment, and none of them carries a citation. No CIA or DoD record uses the term "The Weird Desk" or names a designated anomalies custodian at all.

Note also that Vallee's endnote roster for the May 1985 ATP meeting records Pandolfi as one who "also claims to have been involved" — a claim attributed to Pandolfi himself. See the Kit Green research report.

1989 Damage Control

After aerospace engineer Bob Oechsler's recorded phone call with Admiral Inman and subsequent August 10, 1989 meeting with Everett Hineman at Langley, CIA DS&T officer Ronald Pandolfi personally contacted both Hineman and Inman to interrogate them about what exactly they had disclosed to Oechsler regarding UFO programs.

HFGW Research

Contributed to theoretical work on High Frequency Gravitational Waves under the JASON program, reporting findings to ODNI and MITRE. JASON assessment concluded that HFGW claims do not constitute a security threat.
