Rosemary Ellen Guiley was a paranormal writer whose early-1990s crop-circle research with Dan Smith is the most consistently reported route by which Smith came to know CIA scientist Ronald Pandolfi [S1][S2]. A 1993 account names the two as "directors of the Center for North American Crop Circle Studies," and that spring they co-wrote "The Aquarium Conspiracy," which called for a network of "spiritually advanced individuals" to assist the The Aviary through an "eschatological emergency" [S1]. Diary entries by Jacques Vallee from 1993 record the pair in the UK crop-circle scene and presenting themselves as working for the CIA [S3].
