Resorts International
Resorts International began as the Mary Carter Paint Company, which under James Crosby bought into the Bahamas in the 1960s, acquired Paradise Island, and in 1968 shed its paint division to become a casino company [S1]. Its Bahamian vehicle "Resorts International Limited" (incorporated 22 June 1965, within Stafford Sands' documented June-1965 incorporation wave) is one of only two entities in the circulating ICIJ "Overworld" table confirmed genuine — its Nassau registered address cluster tracks the full Crosby → Trump → Griffin → Sun International/Kerzner ownership chain [S2][S3]. The recurring "CIA front" characterization is hedged journalism ("widely considered," Denton & Morris), and its principal modern promoter has partially retracted it [S1]. In 1970 the company stood up Intertel, a private intelligence subsidiary. An 18 Aug 1976 CIA Office of Security memo on "the Bahama gambling group" behind Resorts is preserved in the NARA JFK releases [S4]. See Offshore Finance Network (UAP Lore Audit).
