Intertel
Intertel (International Intelligence Inc.) was founded in 1970 in Washington DC by Robert Peloquin and William Hundley, staffed heavily with former Justice Department, FBI, and intelligence personnel, and majority-owned by Resorts International as its security arm; clients included the Howard Hughes organization, the NFL, ITT, and the Shah of Iran [S1]. Peloquin ran it from 1970 to 1985 before moving up to Resorts' board [S2]. Its corporate end is a documented cold trail: "Intertel"/"International Intelligence" appears nowhere in Resorts/Griffin Gaming 10-K filings FY1993–97, indicating divestment or wind-down before electronic SEC filing began; IGI (f. 1984, Terry Lenzner) is confirmed not a successor [S3]. The Barbados "Intertel Limited" (1996) in the ICIJ leaks shows no connection — an Ernst & Young-administered IBC, likely a name collision [S4]. See Offshore Finance Network (UAP Lore Audit).
