Banca Privata Finanziaria

Banca Privata Finanziaria was the Milan bank Michele Sindona acquired control of in 1960 through Fasco AG. Hambros Bank (via John McCaffery) and Continental Illinois each took documented 24.5% stakes — corroborated independently by the Milan State Archive's seized-documents finding aid and University of Bologna doctoral research [S1][S2]. It merged with Banca Unione in 1974 to form Banca Privata Italiana, which collapsed the same year. The "Banca Privata Edmond de Rothschild" of Lugano appearing in the ICIJ leaks is an unrelated Rothschild-group bank founded 1926 — a name collision [S3]. See Offshore Finance Network (UAP Lore Audit).
