IARPA
IARPA (the Intelligence Advanced Research Projects Activity) is the Office of the Director of National Intelligence's high-risk research organisation, modelled on DARPA but serving the intelligence community. Lisa Porter was its founding director; Peter T. Highnam served as its second, named by DNI James Robert Clapper Jr. in August 2012 and serving until July 2015, when Jason Matheny succeeded him. [S] Programs launched during Highnam's tenure — Great Horned Owl, Sirius and Janus — were conventional intelligence R&D, with no anomalous-sensing or exotic-physics component in the open record. [S]
