Search Strategies and Retrieval Languages
"Search Strategies and Retrieval Languages" is the doctoral dissertation for which Northwestern University awarded Jacques Vallee a PhD in June 1967 [S7]. The degree is in industrial engineering and computer science, not astronomy [S2] — a correction of consequence, since Vallee is routinely described, including in his own 2003 paper with Eric Davis, as holding an astronomy doctorate [S5]. The one-page abstract survives in the Jacques Vallee papers at the Computer History Museum [S7].
