1962 Starfish Prime - Alleged UAP Crash Retrieval
On July 9, 1962, the U.S. military detonated a 1.4-megaton thermonuclear warhead at ~400 km altitude over the Pacific Ocean in a test known as Starfish Prime. The resulting EMP was far stronger than anticipated, knocking out streetlights and electronics across Hawaii.
Within UAP research networks, it is heavily rumored that the EMP from this detonation disabled and downed a non-human craft, leading to a crash retrieval operation. No primary-source documentation of this retrieval has been publicly confirmed, and it circulates primarily as second-hand researcher lore.
