Dwight D. Eisenhower
Dwight David Eisenhower (October 14, 1890 – March 28, 1969) was the 34th President of the United States (1953–1961) and Supreme Allied Commander in Europe during World War II. His presidency is of particular relevance to UAP research: he presided over the early years of the modern UFO era, oversaw the creation of the CIA's U-2 program, and is alleged by some researchers to have been briefed on — or to have personally witnessed — recovered non-human craft.
UAP Allegations
Eisenhower is the subject of two major alleged contact events. The first, the 1954 Edwards AFB disappearance, claims he slipped away from a Palm Springs vacation for a secret meeting with non-human entities at Edwards Air Force Base; this account is considered lower-confidence lore with no named witnesses. The second, the 1955 Holloman AFB alleged meeting, is considered better-evidenced by researchers due to the adjacent Emenegger–Sandler documentary case, in which named Air Force officials reportedly offered classified UFO landing footage to a DoD-backed film project before withdrawing it at the last moment citing the Watergate scandal.
