Melissa Casias

Melissa Casias was an Administrative Assistant at Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL). Her husband Mark Casias is a LANL Superintendent III. Reports indicate she may have lost her national security clearance prior to disappearance, potentially creating a blackmail/leverage exposure.

Disappearance

Disappeared June 26, 2025 — four days after Monica Jacinto Reza vanished. On the morning of her disappearance she drove husband Mark to LANL at ~6:15 a.m., returned home citing a forgotten badge, stopped at a post office, and delivered a Subway sandwich to her daughter at a Taos Plaza café before leaving around 1 p.m. Both personal and work phones were found at home, factory-reset. Wallet, vehicle, and ID all left behind. Last seen on security camera at Kit Carson Electric Co. on NM-518 at ~2:18 p.m. walking eastbound toward Carson National Forest wearing a turquoise shirt, jeans, and white/pink tennis shoes with a backpack.

Family described her as "in a really good mood" the day before at her daughter's graduation party. New Mexico State Police investigating; $5,000 family reward; $2,500 from Albuquerque Metro Crime Stoppers. Status: missing (endangered).
