TRW
TRW was a U.S. defense contractor. It appears here as an earlier employer of three people who later led the CIA's Directorate of Science and Technology, and in BDM's corporate history.
Albert Wheelon, the directorate's first Deputy Director of Science and Technology (1963 to 1966), worked at Douglas Aircraft and TRW early in his career. He helped develop the first U.S. ICBM and contributed to work for the CIA before joining the agency full-time in 1962. Stephanie O'Sullivan worked for TRW and the Office of Naval Intelligence before joining the CIA in 1995, and led the directorate from 2005 to 2009. Dawn Meyerriecks began her career at TRW (1981 to 1983) and led the directorate until 2021. A 2023 Reddit post about the directorate is the source for these career details.
BDM was a defense contractor in McLean, Virginia, that hosted the Advanced Theoretical Physics Working Group from 1985. BDM's history says TRW acquired it in 1997 and Northrop Grumman absorbed TRW in 2002.
